On June 5, 2014, at 10:45 pm, police and fire units were dispatched to a reported explosion at 6601 Montague Street. Upon arrival officers discovered a vending machine with extensive damage and requested the response of the Bomb Disposal Unit. The Bomb Disposal Unit responded along with the fire marshal and the ATF Arson & Explosives Task Force. Examination of the machine revealed and remnants of a cardboard tube indicative of an improvised explosive device. Nearby surveillance cameras depicted an unknown person approaching the machine with a lit object and fleeing. Shortly afterward, a large explosion is observed.
Suspect Description: Male, unknown race, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue shorts with white stripes down the legs, and dark colored shoes.
